Reference Images
Our client emailed us all the ER, operative, and medical film reports, from which we were able to give a time/cost estimate. An anterior view photo of the plaintiff was provided, which showed her tracheostomy tube and the scarring on her lips. We requested an additional lateral view photo as the majority of her injuries were internal. This allowed us to create a life-like image from an angle that would better show the scarring and necrosis of the alimentary canal.
Preliminary Artwork
We began by using the medical and film reports to inform sketches of the patient's complex internal pathology. We also added an inset view of a healthy nasopharynx to educate jurors about the normal underlying anatomy. These images were assembled into one piece and sent to the client for approval/suggestions.
Final Artwork
Final artwork was completed after sketch approval. A clear, lateral view photograph of the plaintiff allowed us to create a very striking image of a beautiful child who suffered a terrible trauma that would require a lifetime of surgeries. The more references our client sends us, the quicker we can create the images, saving both time and money.
Portrait for the Family
As a gift to the plaintiff’s parents, we used our initial sketches to create a keepsake portrait of their daughter. We know that our attorney friends often see their clients as family, and we were happy to offer this free gift as part of the project.
